Rabies Mom Book

Father's Rights Book, "Rabies Mom," on Political Pistachio Radio

Tonight on Political Pistachio Radio is author and father's rights advocate Pat Carroll. His new book, Rabies Mom, was written along with his brother-in-law Jack McGowan, and the book recounts his recent, personal story of fighting for custody of his six children, one of whom died of rabies while in her mother's custody.

Pat and Jack say courts too often award custody to mother's even when they aren't necessarily the better parent. Together, they plan to form the Better Parent Foundation, a think tank and outreach program that would potentially influence the way courts today decide custody cases. In Pat's case, during the time it took for the court system to finally grant him custody of his children, it was too late for one of his young daughters.

On the show tonight Pat and Jack will discuss:
--The status of fathers’ rights in America today
--Are U.S. courts biased against fathers in custody battles?
--How fathers can successfully win custody of their children
--The true story behind Rabies Mom

Tune in tonight at 10:00 pm Eastern on Political Pistachio Radio (Link is good for the archive later as well).

Russia and Obama

Russia is brandishing their hammer and sickle again! oh, and Barack Obama thinks we have 57 states. . .

Nuclear missiles were on parade across the Red Square. Along with the Nuclear missiles were tanks. Since the Soviet era, this is the first time these items have been paraded as such. And during the display new President Dmitry Medvedev warned other nations against "irresponsible ambitions" that he said could start wars.

This makes one wonder. . . is the Soviet Union Dead? Or has it just resurrected from the dead?

You be the judge:

Oh, by the way, Barack Obama, that intelligent charismatic speaker that wishes to be president of the United States of America, thinks there is 57 states, and wants to de-claw the U.S. so that the new rise of the old Russia can dominate us.

Iraq War, Internet Radio, and the Second Ammendment

Lest We Forget. . .

(photo thanks to De'on)
Tonight on Political Pistachio Radio the guest was David E. Meadows, author of The Sixth Fleet series of books, and author of the just released "Final Run." During the show the subject of supporting the troops, and not allowing the travesty of anti-war protestors demeaning our troops came up. This Budweiser advertisement - commercial of an airport erupting into applause as soldiers came home and walked through the airport came to mind, and brought tears to my eyes as I discussed it:

After my show ended Joshua P. Allem came on, and he read the following (which I have seen before, but for some reason tonight it really got to me:

President Bush did make a bad mistake in the war on terrorism. But the
mistake was not his decision to go to war in Iraq.

Bush's mistake came in his belief that this country is the same one
his father fought for in WWII. It is not.

Back then, they had just come out of a vicious depression. The
country was steeled by the hardship of that depression,
but they still believed fervently in this country. They knew that the
people had elected their leaders, so it was the people's duty to back

those leaders.

Therefore, when the war broke out the people came together, rallied
behind, and stuck with their leaders, whether they had voted for
them or not or whether the war was going badly or not.

And war was just as distasteful and the anguish just as great then as
it is today. Often there were more casualties in one day in
WWII than we have had in the entire Iraq war. But that did not matter.
The people stuck with the President because it was their
patriotic duty. Americans put aside their differences in WWII and
worked together to win that war.

Everyone from every strata of society, from young to old pitched in.
Small children pulled little wagons around to
gather scrap metal for the war effort. Grade school students saved
their pennies to buy stamps for war bonds to help the effort.

Men who were too old or medically 4F lied about their age or condition
trying their best to join the military.
Women doubled their work to keep things going at home. Harsh
rationing of everything from gasoline to soap, to butter was
imposed, yet there was very little complaining.

You never heard prominent people on the radio belittling the
President.
Interestingly enough in those days there were no fat cat actors and
entertainers who ran off to visit and fawn over
dictators of hostile countries and complain to them about our
President. Instead, they made upbeat films and entertained our
troops to help the troops' morale. And a bunch even enlisted.

And imagine this: Teachers in schools actually started the day off
with a Pledge of Allegiance, and
with prayers for our country and our troops!

Back then, no newspaper would have dared point out certain weak spots
in our cities where
bombs could be set off to cause the maximum damage. No newspaper would
have dared complain about what we were
doing to catch spies.

A newspaper would have been laughed out of existence if it had
complained that German or Japanese soldiers were
being 'tortured' by being forced to wear women's underwear, or
subjected to interrogation by a woman, or being scared by a
dog or did not have air conditioning.

There were a lot of things different back then. We were not subjected
to a constant bombardment of pornography,
perversion and promiscuity in movies or on radio. We did not have
legions of crack heads, dope pushers and armed gangs
roaming our streets.

No, President Bush did not make a mistake in his handling of
terrorism. He made the mistake of believing that we still had the
courage and fortitude of our fathers. He believed that this was still
the country that our fathers fought so dearly to preserve.

It is not the same country. It's not as bad as Sodom and Gomorra yet,
but it's now somewhere between Sodom and Gomorra and the
land of Oz. We did unite for a short while after 9/11, but our
attitude changed when we found out that defending our
country would require some sacrifices.

We are in great danger. The terrorists are fanatic Muslims. They
believe that it is okay, even their duty, to kill anyone
who will not convert to Islam. It has been estimated that about one
third or over three hundred million Muslims are sympathetic to
the terrorists cause... Hitler and Tojo combined did not have nearly
that many potential recruits. So... We either win it - or lose it -
and you ain't gonna like losing.

America is not at war. The military is at war. America is at the
mall.

Finally, my good friend, Jim Stewart, author of The Angel From Vietnam, sent me this gem:

If you're a Democrat...........explain this disenfranchisement with these super delegates, many who have been bought and paid for by Obama and Hillary. If it takes hundreds of thousands of people to vote in one state to determine the outcome of a couple hundred delegates, how can one individual super delegate off set the vote of thousands when it comes down to the end? Here are the stats....

Many of the superdelegates who could well decide the Democratic presidential nominee have already been plied with campaign contributions by Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, a new study shows.

"While it would be unseemly for the candidates to hand out thousands of dollars to primary voters, or to the delegates pledged to represent the will of those voters, elected officials serving as superdelegates have received about $890,000 from Obama and Clinton in the form of campaign contributions over the last three years," the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics reported today.

About half the 800 superdelegates -- elected officials, party leaders, and others -- have committed to either Clinton or Obama, though they can change their minds until the convention.

Obama's political action committee has doled out more than $694,000 to superdelegates since 2005, the study found, and of the 81 who had announced their support for Obama, 34 had received donations totaling $228,000.

Clinton's political action committee has distributed about $195,000 to superdelegates, and only 13 of the 109 who had announced for her have received money, totaling about $95,000.

AND THE REPUBLICANS STEAL ELECTIONS????

The Second Ammendment and Gun Control

One of my listeners over at Political Pistachio Radio, Deb, has a video channel over at YouTube, and she produced the following video using my words on my show about the subject of Gun Ownership. All I have to say is, "Wow, what a great job." Enjoy.

Obama's Change

Obama's Change

The Most Liberal Senator, Elitist Extraordinaire, the candidate most likely not to place his hand on his heart for the American flag, the man who attended a church for 20 years and never realized the pastor was a racist, and the only candidate that keeps dragging race into the race, wants your vote. . .

He thinks America is a great country, and wants you to join him to change it. . .

No thank you, Barack Obama. Your kind of America frightens me.

Liberal Utopia in the Primaries

Indiana and North Carolina Primaries Say More about Socialism in Democratic Party

Well, it looks like Obama has won in North Carolina, and Indiana is too close to call. In all truth, unlike Rush Limbaugh and his Operation Chaos effort, I really don't care which one of them win. Either way, if Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama wins, the answer is still the same for the Democratic Party. They are both Liberal to the point of Marxist Socialism.

And the process of nominating their candidates is proof positive that the Democrats do not trust the people.

The left is all about trying to be fair. Fair to a fault. They don't want anyone offended, they want to make sure everyone has a fighting chance, and they don't think the people have one iota of brain power, or at least not enough to matter in close elections and nomination selections.

Lets go back to 1968. The convention is best remembered for its rioting between protesters and police. McCarthy was the Obama of 1968. McCarthy lost the nomination to the Hillary of 1968: Hubert Humphrey. Delegates were unseated and the protests ensued. It was then that the Democrats decided that fairness outweighed the need for an orderly process that actually produced a viable candidate for President of the United States. So, following the 1968 debacle in Chicago, the party rigged the system so that never again would their bigwigs be denied a voice in the presidential nominating convention.

By 1984, the Democrats had dreamed up the ridiculous nominating process we see in action this year. It included the "super-delegates" which basically are unelected delegations consisting of senators, congressmen, governors and other party officials who are guaranteed a seat at the table regardless of whether they deserve it or not. In other words, experienced politicians that can override the people's decision if need be.

The sets of rules for the Democrats also include having no winner-take-all elections. This creates a situation where a candidate can win what would, under any other circumstances, be considered a landslide and walk away with very few more delegates than the loser.

This liberal method, or should I say "socialist method," truly represents what the liberal left is all about. In the ever sought liberal Utopian society no one should really win or lose. No one should have more than anyone else. Everything should be equally distributed. After all, life is not about competition. . . it is about being fair, right? In fact, equality of opportunity means nothing to these people, while equality of result means everything. Anyone who gets ahead must be penalized. As in their primary elections, no matter how hard you work, no matter how much you prosper, no matter how diligently you plan, you will never get beyond a certain point. To allow you to do so would be, well, unfair.

This is why they don't care about the fact that raising taxes has a poor economic impact, or if over-regulating business hurts the business's ability to operate. It is all about trying to be fair. Fairness comes first, even if it harms the nation or our economy.

That's why they push their government funded health care plans so hard. they want to force you to pay for your neighbor's health care when you can barely afford to pay for your own, even as they try to convince you that it's free for everyone since the government is paying for it.

Fact is, it is pure "cradle to grave" socialism. People that recognize what it is are afraid to call it such, and most do not recognize it for what it is because of the language manipulation by the liberals to dress it up and make it acceptable. But in the end, as proven with the superdelegates, the Democrats do not trust the people because they are Marxist Elitists who only care about power, and trying to be fair to the point of penalizing success.

Bill Ayers and Barack Obama

You are who you hang around

Obama's buddy, Bill Ayers, was caught stepping on the American Flag in 2001 - - - At the time this photograph was taken, Obama and Ayers were serving together on the board of the Woods Fund. Interesting, Obama's buddy shows no respect for the flag in that photo, and Obama didn't show respect during the singing of the National Anthem. Connection?

Papa KORN

Jonathan Davis, the lead singer of KORN, was born in Bakersfield, California. During his teenage years he recorded demos in his father’s studio. Later, he joined a band called Sex Art, Which also included Ryan Shuck (the guitarist of the current band Orgy). Sex Art was performing in a club one night when at the time L.A.P.D. was also performing which had James Shaffer and Brian Welch (Munky and Head of Korn) saw Jonathan Davis singing, and asked him to join their band Creep. After Jon got the job they later became Korn. Jonathan's father, Rick Davis, first worked in the music industry with Glenn Campbell. He spent several years working for and learning from Gary S. Paxton (Alley Oop - and many other hits - Gary has been a Christian producer since the 1970's). Rick Davis spent over 25 years in the music industry, touring, recording, managing, and then mentoring. Rick's very successful brother, Mike Davis, is the Senior VP of Entertainment for Universal Theme Parks, Japan, and he is a former VP of entertainment for Disney. Rick Davis' final tour was working for Ringo Starr on his 1989/90 All Star Band Tour. Rick had a lifetime close working relationship with the late Buck Owens, operating Buck's recording studio for 16 years. Jonathan Davis is my second cousin (once removed?). Rick is my mom's cousin. When Rick and Mike Davis were kids one of their strong musical influences was my grandfather. Grandpa loved gadgets and guitars, and he loved to show everyone how it all worked. Mike took to the guitar and musical side, and Rick was more into the gadgets. In the end, both brothers broke into the music industry, Mike as a singer, and Rick became involved in the production end of the industry. I last spoke with Rick in person at my grandfather's funeral years ago. Jonathan will always be to me that quiet little kid that I ignored at family get togethers. Little did I know that the young man that studied to be a mortician in college would be the front man for one of the biggest rock bands in history. Recently, I was thinking about doing a show on my Political Pistachio Radio about how the music industry and world of politics affect each other. When the idea formulated in my mind, the first person I thought of to request as a knowledgeable guest regarding the subject was Rick Davis (Papa KORN). So, Monday night, after my guest hosting on the Andrea Shea King show, Political Pistachio Radio's guest is Rick Davis, the father of Jonathan Davis, to discuss how the music industry and the political cockroaches influence each other. Join us at 10:00 PM Eastern Time.

Playing With The Enemy Movie

Playing With The Enemy Movie, The book by Gary W. Moore: Friend of Political Pistachio

Gary W. Moore is a humble man, calm and friendly, happy to discuss the life of his father. After all, the tale of his father is larger than life, and a story we can learn from - because it is a tale about second chances, but second chances in a direction that we don't always expect.

Gary's father, Gene Moore, began his journey to the pages of Playing With The Enemy as a 15 year old baseball prodigy that was drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1940. The outbreak of World War II, however, demanded that the young phenom join the military. Gene Moore joined the United States Navy, and his tour began in North Africa where he played for the Navy baseball team to entertain the troops. The duty was not always easy, or away from danger, evidenced by the death of the center fielder when an explosion on the field took the young ballplayer's life. Later, as the war effort concentrated more on the theater in Europe, Gene Moore was sent on a secret mission to guard German POWs in Louisiana. These prisoners were very special, however, and their capture was a secret to the outside world for a tremendous reason. The submarine these German sailors were the crew of was the U-505 (now on display in Chicago, Illinois at the Museum of Science and Industry), inside which the United States procured the Enigma Machine and all of the code books that went with it, enabling us to stay on top of the changes in the code, and therefore assisting us in winning the war against Germany. During this time that Gene Moore guarded these prisoners, primarily out of his desire to play baseball (and perhaps a little boredom), Gene Moore and his fellow military baseball players taught the enemy soldiers how to play America's pastime.

The story does not end there, however. Tragedy, and the storms of life that can crush dreams, and enable the birth of new ones, came to Gene Moore's life. It was then that he learned about second chances, and the importance of the unexpected things in life.

This inspirational true story is being made into a film by Producer Gerald R. Molen via his WhiteLight Entertainment production company. Molen's and White Light Entertainment's credits include Schindler's List, Minority Report, Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Twister, Casper, Rain Man and The Flintstones. White Light Entertainment has to its credit 33 Academy Award nominations, 19 Academy Awards, including two for the best picture and a total box office collection of $4 billion from the 14 movies it has produced so far. The screenplay was written by WhiteLight director of development David Ranes and the author's son, Toby Moore, who's also set to portray his grandfather. The film is in production now and is slated to be released during the first quarter of 2009.

I first met Gary W. Moore, the author of Playing With The Enemy, at a book signing in San Diego on October 1, 2006. A month later we got together in Pasadena, California after another book signing, and it was then that I realized I had made a wonderful friend. Since then, Gary W. Moore has appeared on my Political Pistachio Radio Show a number of times (April 7, 2007; June 16, 2007 with his publisher: Ted Savas; and January 26, 2008).

And honestly, Playing With The Enemy is a great read, and a book that is not about World War II and Baseball as much as it is about the human spirit.

As for the movie? Well, I hear there is going to be some great acting talents in the film, but the producer has not released the names, yet. However, when we know who those actors are that are in the film, you will find out about it on Political Pistachio, and of course at that time we will have Gary W. Moore return to Political Pistachio Radio to discuss the latest news regarding this blockbuster film.

Also see Gary interviewed by CNN here, and the Fox affiliate in Milwaukee here.

Cyclone Hits Burma / Myanmar

Myanmar declares disaster after cyclone leaves 241 dead

The Union of Myanmar, formerly the Union of Burma, has declared disaster zones in five regions following a cyclone, which struck early Saturday.

241 people are reported to be dead from the storm, nearly 222 of them from the country's low-lying Irrawaddy delta.

"The Irrawaddy delta was hit extremely hard not only because of the wind and rain but because of the storm surge," said Chris Kaye, the U.N.'s acting humanitarian coordinator in Yangon. "The villages there have reportedly been completely flattened."

The storm generated 150 mph winds that blew the roofs off hundreds of houses, damaged hotels, schools and hospitals, and cut electricity to many areas.

In the city of Yangon, roads are blocked, water is not available, and there is no electricity. Yangon residents ventured out Sunday to buy construction materials to repair their homes. Some people expressed anger that the military-led government had done little so far to help with the cleanup.

"Where are all those uniformed people who are always ready to beat civilians?" said one man, who refused to be identified for fear of retribution. "They should come out in full force and help clean up the areas and restore electricity."

This crisis comes at a time during which many political changes are hoped for in Myanmar. A referendum is scheduled to be held on May 10 on the country's military-backed draft constitution. A military-managed national convention was held intermittently for 14 years to lay down guidelines for the country's new constitution, but some see it simply as a dog and pony act designed to give the military-led government increased power.

The new constitution is supposed to be followed in 2010 by a general election, an element of a promise for a "road map to democracy" drawn up by the junta, which has been in power for two decades. Critics say the draft constitution is designed to cement military power and have urged citizens to vote no.

Republican History

Back To Basics for the Republican Party

Among Conservatives the rumblings are constantly about how the Republican Party has left us, moving toward the left, using "Compassionate Conservatism" as an excuse to inject big government into the party. The Republican Party leadership is hardly conservative, and the current nomination for President of the United States, John McCain, is barely better than his two Democrat Party opponents.

The Republican Party has lost its way, and if it is not salvaged soon, the GOP will go the way of the Whigs.

A handbook for Republicans who feel in their heart that the basics of the Republican Party have been lost is on the bookshelves of bookstores today. Back to Basics for the Republican Party is a handbook for Republicans that explains how we need to return to our roots. The author of the book is Michael Zak.

Back to the Basics for the Republican Party is an acclaimed history of the Grand Ol' Party from the civil rights perspective, as well as recognizing the founding principles of the United States. Michael Zak believes that we can benefit greatly from knowing and appreciating the Republican Party's heritage.

Michael Zak is a popular speaker to Republican organizations around the country, and his book has been cited by Clarence Thomas in a Supreme Court decision. Hundreds of articles by Mr. Zak are available on the Grand Old Partison blog each day, celebrating 154 years of Republican heroes and heroics.

Tonight, Michael Zak is my guest on Political Pistachio Radio tonight at 10:00 PM Eastern Time.

The Obsolete Man

Living in the Twilight Zone

Golden Earring's Chorus for The Twilight Zone goes as follows:

Now I'm steppin' into the Twilight Zone
This is a madhouse
Feels like being home
My feet they can't move
Under moon and star
Where am I to go now that I've gone too far

Now why, you may ask, am I bringing up that chorus and The Twilight Zone?

I am a huge Twilight Zone fan, catching old episodes whenever I can on the local independent television station. I will not be so arrogant to say that I have caught every episode in my lifetime, but I have seen a great many of them. A couple of nights ago I caught an episode that sent a chill down my spine. The episode of The Twilight Zone was "The Obsolete Man," with Burgess Meredith (Watch the full episode here). The opening narration is as follows:

You walk into this room at your own risk, because it leads to the future; not a future that will be, but one that might be. This is not a new world: It is simply an extension of what began in the old one. It has patterned itself after every dictator who has ever planted the ripping imprint of a boot on the pages of history since the beginning of time. It has refinements, technological advancements, and a more sophisticated approach to the destruction of human freedom. But like every one of the super states that preceded it, it has one iron rule: Logic is an enemy, and truth is a menace. This is Mr. Romney Wordsworth, in his last forty-eight hours on Earth. He's a citizen of the State, but will soon have to be eliminated, because he's built out of flesh and because he has a mind. Mr. Romney Wordsworth, who will draw his last breaths in the Twilight Zone.

The main character, Romney Wordsworth (Burgess Meredith), is a person that has been found to be "obsolete" by The State because he is not needed by society anymore. And because he is guilty of the crime of being obsolete, he is prosecuted by The Chancellor, and is sentenced to death.

In his daily life Mr. Wordsworth is a carpenter. Secretly, he is a librarian, a practice that is punishable by death. Also, he believes in God, another crime punishable by death.

After his sentencing, Wordsworth is given the choice of method of execution. He requests, also, that he be allowed to not disclose his method of death, and for the execution to be broadcast live on television. The requests are honored, and Wordsworth is sentenced.

Note the name of the main character. Romney Wordsworth. Appropriate considering his hobby as a librarian. Also note this daytime occupation: Carpenter. Considering that Mr. Wordsworth in this episode of The Twilight Zone is a man of faith, the connection is obvious. And Mr. Wordsworth spends a large portion of his final moments reading from a Holy Bible which he retrieves from a hiding place (apparently the Bible is illegal as well).

As the episode proceeds, while Wordsworth's final hours are broadcast live to the nation, the chancellor is invited by Wordsworth to come to his apartment (Wordsworth's choice location for his death) for a short discussion. What the chancellor does not realize is Wordsworth ensures that the chancellor is locked in the room with him. Then Wordsworth reveals his choice method of execution, and this chosen method is by bomb, a device which has been hidden in the room and is set to go off when the clock reaches midnight.

Wordsworth is calm as death approaches, and his intention is to show the nation how a man of God faces death. As he reads verses from his Bible, he points out that the State will risk losing face by trying to rescue a high-ranking chancellor. As the time winds down, Wordsworth’s calm acceptance of death stands in sharp contrast with the chancellor’s increasing panic, and eventual outburst, "In the name of God, let me out!"

Wordsworth immediately obliges, saying, "Yes, chancellor, In the name of God, I will let you out."

Wordsworth knows he is not obsolete as he dies. His personal freedom was not taken away from him by the totalitarian state, his faith was not rubbed out by the humanistic secular government. His faith in what was written in his Bible is what keeps him going, and he never becomes fearful as death approaches. As death approaches the main character remains firm in his convictions, while the chancellor who claimed all along to be protected by The State became fearful, and panicked.

In the final scene the chancellor, now stripped of his rank for his outcry to God, and his inability to hide his fear, is put on trial for none other than the crime of being obsolete.

The closing narration of The Obsolete Man is as follows:

The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete, but so is the State, the entity he worshipped. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of man, that state is obsolete. A case to be filed under "M" for mankind—in the Twilight Zone.

How chilling is the parallels to today's society. The liberal left desires that The State (big government) be all things to all people. They encourage dependency upon The State through entitlement programs while squashing faith and self-sufficience. Anything not in agreement with their agenda is suppressed (as Creationism is in academia, how discussions of faith are because the Christian faith refuses to accept homosexuality as a valid lifestyle, Pro-Family books and addresses because they defend the family unit). And as this agenda incrementally advances, eugenics peeks over the horizon, and the liberal left's own green agendas stands in the way of their own supposed advancements and religion of saving the planet from ourselves.

How chilling is it that today's society is hell-bent on eliminating God, eliminating faith, and suppressing scriptural teachings and values. The commonalities between The Obsolete Man and the path our society is on is chilling, indeed.

Also note the following: The Obsolete man aired during the second season of The Twilight Zone in 1961, two years before God/prayer was removed from the public school system by Abington Township School District v. Schempp, June 17, 1963, a case brought about by the activism of Madalyn Murray O'Hair, who founded the group American Atheists in 1963.

Economic Upturn

That Horrid Housing Slowdown

By day I work in the Housing Industry. I have been in Construction for 11.5 years, and decided to move into this field after being a pencil-pusher for 12 years. I have actually been able to retire since 1999, but due to circumstances that essentially makes me remain in Southern California, rather than retire on the Oregon Coast, I remain here, working to pass the time.

Of late, work has been slow. The economic slowdown, which I believe to be a direct result of government manipulation, has been most apparent in the housing industry. As a result, until recently, I have had plenty of time to blog.

Something interesting has happened, however, despite the doom and gloom regarding the economy the mainstream media puts out. Housing is picking up, houses are beginning to sell, and as a result, my company is receiving a lot of work - - - so much work that we are looking at going on seven-day-a-week schedules.

You may say that this is not true. We are heading toward a recession. The eleven o'clock news says so!

The free market economy is self-adjusting. I saw it adjust when I was a financial consultant back in the early 90's, and I am seeing it do so now. When a slowdown hits, prices drop, making it a buyers market. Then as buyers begin to buy, prices rise, making it a sellers market, eventually forcing a slowdown because buyers no longer are interested in purchases as they were before because of the rise of prices. . . which results in a drop of prices again in order to sell the products to less consumers willing to buy (remember economy class? Supply and Demand?), and so on, and so on. However, every time a rise or fall in the economy happens the doom and gloom politicians and leftard political junkies start screaming that we are headed toward a recession.

Folks, a recession must see two consecutive quarters of negative growth, and that just isn't happening. Granted, the growth is small, but it is still there.

In fact, the houses we dug the foundations of today is a part of a release of new houses that has sold out "before" the models were even completed!

Unfortunately, the Democrats are trying to create an atmosphere of doom and gloom regarding the economy so that they can claim that they will "save us" from the coming recession, and George W. Bush has reacted with an idiotic stimulus package (and anyone say, "legacy building?") that will not only not stimulate an economy that does not need his manipulative finger on its pulse, but will result in a further deficit and another excuse for the liberal left to raise taxes in order to try to replace the funds used for the stimulus package that would honestly have been better used somewhere else. The stimulus package that George Bush is so proud of takes more money out of our pockets in the long run with the taxes rise, and that will then possibly send us into the very recession the politicians say they are trying to avoid.

Maddening, isn't it?
