Minority Rules

An extremist group in Australia is calling for Australian Muslims to prepare for jihad against anyone standing in the way of an "Islamic Superstate."

Palestinian Sheik Issam has stated, "If two people are united and a third person comes along and tries to incite disunity, kill him."

The establishment for Khilafah, an Islamic Superstate which would unite the world's Islamic countries (currently numbered at 57), is an Islamic duty.   Muslims have been ordered by radical clerics to kill Muslims and non-Muslims who threaten coming Superstate.

Indonesian cleric Ismail Yusanto has called for the sons and daughters of Islam to help build and defend Sharia Law (absolute form of Islam) across the globe, and to prepare for the inevitable war against the Western powers.  He also stated that "Sacrifice must be encouraged."

The call for Muslims to obtain military training and prepare for the jihad has gone out.  If the capital of the Islamic Superstate (Khilafah) fell and was occupied by the invading forces, the rest of Islam must be involved in an all-out war against the occupiers.

According to Muslim prophecy, the seat of world government is to be in the city of Kufa, Iraq.

During the 1930's, the majority of Germans did not consider themselves to be Nazis.  In fact, very few German people were true Nazis.  However, many were enjoying the promise of returning German Pride.  They figured the Nazis were a bunch of fools, could never do more than make a lot of noise, and resolved to go about their business making lives for themselves, and letting the politicians be the ones to worry about politics.

In the end, the world for those Germans came to a violent end.  As the majority sat back and watched, the Nazi Party led Germany into World War II, followed by the destruction of Germany by allied forces, with a great many of those citizens that decided to do nothing winding up in concentration camps before it was all over.

Communist Russia was founded on the principle of peaceful co-habitation.  The Russians wished to live in peace in a utopian society where everyone worked together for the state.  The Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of over 20 million people.

Chinese Communists, once again the majority of people in that nation desire to live in peace and make no waves, have managed to murder 70 million people.

Japan's majority, before World War II, was not populated by a bunch of sadists poised for global domination.  Yet, Japan's minority led the country into murdering and slaughtering its way across southeast Asia systematically murdering 12 million Chinese civilians.

Rwanda is said to have been populated by peace loving citizens, but history tells a story of Rwanda collapsing into a butchery that rivaled Cambodia's killing fields.

Today, it is well understood that a great majority of Muslims wish to live in peace, and shrug off these radical Islamic clerics as a bunch of fools whose threats will amount to nothing.  Their tirades about a great Islamic Superstate forged from war and terrorism is just a bunch of meaningless fluff, according to the peace loving Muslim majority.  Nobody would ever let it get to that point.

Radical Islam is not much unlike Naziism.  Islamic fanatics are rampaging around the planet in the name of Islam, and it is a fact that this minority of violent men currently rules Islam.  These fanatics, that are simply a minority of old fools, are all over the news as they wage four dozen or so wars worldwide.  It is these fanatics that are systematically slaughtering Christians and tribal groups throughout Africa in an attempt to take over the entire continent.  It is these fanatics who practice civil rights violations against women and gays by beheading or stoning them.  It was these fanatics that pulled together the resources to fly planes into American structures, killing thousands of Americans, on September 11, 2001.

Peace-loving Muslims are the majority, and for the most part have remained silent.  Like their predecessors in Germany, Russia, China, Japan, Rwanda, and so forth, they may find themselves some day in the future under the complete rule of the fanatics, and it will be too late.

The good Muslims are allowing radical Islam to spread across the globe.  And we are just as guilty fighting among ourselves and refusing to fully support the effort in the Middle East.

Iraq cannot be abandoned.  We have struck the prophesied seat of power for a future fascist Islamic superstate, and we have engaged the enemy in the heart of their homeland.  Since our presence, terrorism has not returned to the United States.  If we pull out of Iraq, World War II will be nothing more than a jaunt through the park by comparison.  Israel will be destroyed, followed shortly by a jihad that will be waged against all nations of the West.  Regardless of the reasoning by the current administration for going into the region, and regardless of any errors made in the planning of this conflict, the fact is we are in the region and pulling out would be disastrous.

Makes me wonder if the anti-Christ will be wearing a turban.

An Old Truck on the Highway

Watching those protests by the anti-war crowd (including Hollyweird liberals like Sean Penn, Jane Fonda, Susan Surandon, and Tim Robbins) reminded me of the time I spotted an old pickup truck on the freeway being driven by an older Mexican gentleman that reminded me of my wife's father.

I noticed a blue bumper sticker plastered to his back window. The sticker was large and easily read, placed in a prominent portion of the window, up high, with pride. The sticker read, "MY DAUGHTER IS SERVING IN THE UNITED STATES AIR FORCE."

There is nothing better than an American of Mexican descent proud of their American connection rather than holding out their hand for welfare freebies, and then biting the American hand that feeds them, only to ask for more hand-outs, while pledging their allegiance to another flag. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with being proud of your heritage, but to appreciate, and defend, the nation that gave you the opportunities that you came here for is the right thing to do.

Why is it that a man like the gentleman driving that truck, or my wife, who came to America from Mexico, believes more in defending our nation, and protecting our interests, and protecting our shores from further terrorist attacks by taking the battle to the terrorists than many of those born right here in freedom?

We were invaded on 9/11. The jihad came to America. We all cried afterward over the loss of our fellow Americans, and held our pride up when Bush said that "The United States will hand down and punish those responsible for these cowardly acts." - President George W. Bush, 9-11-2001.

We also agreed with the president, even though he carries his Bible under his arm (of which I not only don't have a problem with, but I appreciate), when Rumsfield stated, "It will not be quick and it will not be easy. Our adversaries are not one or two terrorist leaders, or even a single terrorist organization or network. It's a broad network of individuals and organizations that are determined to terrorize and, in so doing, to deny us the very essence of what we are: free people. They don't live in Antarctica. They work, they train and they plan in countries. They're benefiting from the support of governments. They're benefiting from the support of non-governmental organizations that are either actively supporting them with money, intelligence and weapons or allowing them to function on their territory and tolerating if not encouraging their activities. In either case, it has to stop. We'll have to deal with the networks. One of the ways to do that is to drain the swamp they live in. And that means dealing not only with the terrorists, but those who harbor terrorists. This will take a long, sustained effort. It will require the support of the American people as well as our friends and allies around the world."

Did we forget 9/11? Did we forget our anger? How about this quote? Did we forget it too? "The planes were hijacked, the buildings fell, and thousands of lives were lost nearly a thousand miles from here. But the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were an attack on the heart of America. And standing here in the heartland of America, we say in one voice – We will not give in to terrorists; We will not rest until they are found and defeated; We will win this struggle – not for glory, nor wealth, nor power, but for justice, for freedom, and for peace; So help us God." --Tom Harkin

Even Bill Clinton, before he flip-flopped as liberals tend to do, said, "A few months ago, and again this week, bin Laden publicly vowed to publicly wage a terrorist war against America, saying, and I quote, 'We do not differentiate between those dressed in military uniforms and civilians. They're all targets.' Their mission is murder, and their history is bloody."

Even the international stage was with us at that time. "The full horror of what has happened in the United States earlier today is now becoming clearer. It is hard even to contemplate the utter carnage and terror which has engulfed so many innocent people. We've offered President Bush and the American people our solidarity, our profound sympathy, and our prayers. But it is plain that citizens of many countries round the world, including Britain, will have been caught up in this terror." --British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Interview, September 11, 2001.

Unfortunately, after reading treasonous remarks by the American Media, and receiving emotionally charged (but short on facts) comments on many of my posts by persons claiming to be Christian Liberals (Oxymoron?) on Political Pistachio, and some of the comments I hear certain friends and family say that are liberally charged by the New Age movement and the remnants of the "love-beads" generation, I find it sad to say that the most patriotic person I know of, aside from my president, and fellow conservative bloggers, is the outgoing British Prime Minister, who isn't obviously American. So, let's close with his remarks.

"So what do we do? Don't overreact some say. We aren't. We haven't lashed out. No missiles on the first night just for effect. Don't kill innocent people. We are not the ones who waged war on the innocent. We seek the guilty. Look for a diplomatic solution. There is no diplomacy with Bin Laden or the Taliban regime. State an ultimatum and get their response. We stated the ultimatum; they haven't responded. Understand the causes of terror. Yes, we should try, but let there be no moral ambiguity about this: nothing could ever justify the events of 11 September, and it is to turn justice on its head to pretend it could. The action we take will be proportionate; targeted; we will do all we humanly can to avoid civilian casualties. But understand what we are dealing with. Listen to the calls of those passengers on the planes. Think of the children on them, told they were going to die. Think of the cruelty beyond our comprehension as amongst the screams and the anguish of the innocent, those hijackers drove at full throttle planes laden with fuel into buildings where tens of thousands worked. They have no moral inhibition on the slaughter of the innocent. If they could have murdered not 7,000 but 70,000 does anyone doubt they would have done so and rejoiced in it? There is no compromise possible with such people, no meeting of minds, no point of understanding with such terror. Just a choice: defeat it or be defeated by it. And defeat it we must.--British Prime Minister Tony Blair

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Any action taken will be against the terrorist network of Bin Laden.... As for the Taleban, they can surrender the terrorists or face the consequences - and again in any action the aim will be to eliminate their military hardware, cut off their finances, disrupt their supplies, target their troops, not civilians.--British Prime Minister Tony Blair

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

We will put a trap around the regime and I say to the Taleban: Surrender the terrorists or surrender power. It's your choice.--British Prime Minister Tony Blair

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

America has its faults as a society, as we have ours. But I think of the Union of America born out of the defeat of slavery. I think of its Constitution, with its inalienable rights granted to every citizen still a model for the world. I think of a black man, born in poverty, who became chief of their armed forces and is now secretary of state Colin Powell and I wonder frankly whether such a thing could have happened here. I think of the Statue of Liberty and how many refugees, migrants and the impoverished passed its light and felt that if not for them, for their children, a new world could indeed be theirs. I think of a country where people who do well, don't have questions asked about their accent, their class, their beginnings but have admiration for what they have done and the success they've achieved. I think of those New Yorkers I met, still in shock, but resolute; the fire fighters and police, mourning their comrades but still head held high.--British Prime Minister Tony Blair

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

As for those that carried out these attacks there are no adequate words of condemnation. Their barbarism will stand as their shame for all eternity.--British Prime Minister Tony Blair

Victims of Racial Attacks

I tend to steer clear of racial issues because as a white man I am often accused of not understanding the plight of minorities in America, or I am accused as being a member of the ranks of those that use discrimination as a tool of hate.  I will never pretend to understand what it is like to be treated unfairly by "The Man" because of my race, creed or color.  I am unable to imagine the pain of some who know that their ancestors were slaves to White Men during an ignorant age.  I pride myself in being what I call color blind, and I think that I am usually successful at it.

Fact is, people are people, and everyone is prejudice to one degree or another.  Whether you are willing to admit it or not, if you were in a room full of total strangers, and the people in the room had grouped themselves into sections of race, more than likely you would gravitate to the group of people most similar to yourself.  It may seem awful, and you may even argue that you would not do such a thing, but the truth is, you probably would.  That doesn't make you a bad person.  It makes you human.

In high school, and the United States Navy, I was considered an oddball because of the group of friends I hung around.  In school, the group of friends that I joined to play basketball with behind the gym consisted of myself (the lone white member of the group), a few Mexicans, an African-American, and a Vietnamese kid.  We co-existed wonderfully.  Color or culture had no bearing on the games we played.  In the Navy, on my first ship, my group of friends consisted of two whites (including me), a Phlippino, a black, and a kid who we were not sure what he was, but we accepted him regardless.  I think he was a Pacific Islander, but we never asked, so I never knew.

A couple of months ago I was watching a cable news show, I think it was either O'Reilly or Hannity, but I am not sure to be honest, and they had two guests on the show.  The first was a black professor who stated that it was his goal to help in the extermination of the white race, and a New Black Panther member who proclaimed that it was time for the black man to destroy the white oppressors and take revenge for the barbaric activities perpetuated during the years of slavery.

In the meantime, Mexican-Americans have their battle cry, "Viva La Raza", which essentially means hurray for The Race.  On a reality show involving boxing I was watching, the boxing coach of a Mexican boxer says to him, "You beat this white man for The Race.  Do it for your Race."  Recently, at work I was accused of being racist because I complained about Spanish being spoken in my work truck while transporting my fellow co-workers, leaving me completely out of the conversation, and left to drive in silence.

I do not condone racism.  I do have a problem with members of each race doing things that make a bad name for that race.  I can't stand the African-American punks out there that go around acting all gangster like, throwing signs, and talking down to Whites.  I have a problem with Far East Asian-Americans that act as if they are on a higher plane than me simply because I am of a different race.  I find it difficult to understand the Hispanics that come across the border illegally, take what they can, spit on the American Flag, and claim that they are going to take the American Southwest back from the White man.  I am revolted by whites that claim an allegiance to Nazism, or the Confederacy, and go around harming other people simply because of the color of their skin, or their ethnicity.  I dislike Muslims who proclaim that profiling them to protect this nation is a violation of their rights when it is members of their race that flew planes into the World Trade Center.  You find it offensive?  Fine, then let's search everyone.  For my safety as an American I am willing to endure a little inconvenience.

But here is what really bothers me.  The latest trend of discrimination is not against Blacks, or Hispanics, or Asians (not that I am saying it should be).  All across our diverse United States the group being victimized the most in racial attacks, which is urged by many non-white organizations, is members of the White Community.

I had a whole line-up of links to prove my case, but I decided that I am not going to post them, because this is not a post about pointing fingers, or proclaiming that the black man or the Mexican did this or that.  I just want to make aware that racial attacks are not necessarily always carried out by a bunch of racist whites.  Racial attacks are on the rise by minorities, who are encouraged to do so by community leaders, professors, the media, and even textbooks.  Sandra Stotsky's book, Losing our Language, is one such example.

I am not just sitting here and complaining.  I refuse to take on a victim attitude that seems to be prevailant among some people.  I am only saying that this has got to stop.  We are currently facing an enemy in the form of Radical Islam that uses division of a nation to its advantage, and if we are to survive this latest assault on liberty and democracy, all Americans need to be united in the fight.  In-fighting will destroy us.  United We Stand.  Divided We Fall.

Caring for our Veterans

I am a service connected partially disabled military veteran.  I am a patient at the Veteran's Administration in San Diego.  Right now I show up for care about once out of every three weeks because of certain difficulties that I am going through.  The visits are always the same.  Show up in the morning, wait a couple hours to be seen, get sent over to have some blood drawn, go to imaging and have some pictures taken of my insides, and then get home sometime in the early evening.  Hurry up and wait.

Most of the World War II Veterans are gone.  They are the ones highest up in years, and slowly they are dying off one by one.  I miss their stories.  Now the VA Hospital is dominated by Vietnam Veterans, with Gulf War Vets coming in a close second.  They don't talk as much as the WWII Vets did.  The Vietnam Veterans didn't get the same kind of welcome back that the WWII Vets did, so I suppose their silence is understandable.

The nurses are rough with me when they check my vitals, my doctors seem indifferent, the imaging people poke me in the sides to make sure they have the right part of my body under the crosshairs, and the blood drawing folks poke me numerous times with fat needles before they locate my veins.  On rare occasion they fill a tube without having to move the needle around in my arm.

Whenever I tell folks about my visits to the VA Hospital, the response is usually quick to comment that "We should be providing better care for our veterans."  No kidding?  The Left, surprisingly, tends to be more adamant about it than the Right.  That, in all honesty, fascinates me.  These Lefties are the same people who support socialized medicine (AKA Universal Healthcare).

What kind of care do the Liberals truly believe they are going to receive with Socialized Medicine?  I guarantee it'll be much worse than what our veterans are currently receiving at the VA Center, and these are the same idiots complaining that the vets deserve better.

Have these leftwingers ever been to a County Hospital where the non-insured patients go for care?  It's a zoo.  How about to medical facilities in countries that use Socialized Medicine?  Poor care, increased wait for care, and taxes that amount to damn near more than what we pay private insurance companies is the norm in these places.

Yeah, I agree, our veterans deserve better care, but so does America, and Universal Health will only put our quality of care in serious jeopardy.

2007 State of the Union as presented by President George W. Bush

The similarities between this State of the Union Speech and last year's seemed uncanny to me. Perhaps I am reading into things, and perhaps Nancy Pelosi will grow a brain. Doubt it on both counts.

The order of the items, I suppose, were in a different order, and that made it a whole new speech.

President Bush, after making a comment about being the first president to be able to say "Madam Speaker" to which Nancy Pelosi used an over the top form of body language by pumping her fists and mouthing the word, "Yes," dove right in to remind us that despite what the doom and gloom liberals pronounce, our economy is strong and growing. Job growth, low inflation and rising wages all made it into his speech. Congratulations, free enterprise, tax cuts and government getting off our backs has proven itself again to be a successful way to run an economy. This is news, of course, the Democrats deny acknowledgment of, declaring erroneously that we are heading for a recession and all is horrid on the economic front. I guess the liberals see a glass of water as half empty.

Balancing the budget without the need to raise taxes came up next, and it was nice seeing how facts (deficit cut in half 3 years ahead of schedule) shut the Democrats up, and had them sitting on their hands as the Republicans cheered and rose to their feet in loud applause. Bush proposed to submit a budget, now, that will eliminate the federal deficit in the next five years. Interesting. The deficit is dying by the hands of a Republican, and the Democrats have spent so many years blaming The Right for the deficit in the first place, declaring that it was not possible to eliminate it within the next couple generations. See, Democrats, what can be done when people quit complaining and get to work? The Left could care less about balancing the budget. They want Bush to fail, because rather than helping the growth of America, their primary agenda is simply to win the 2008 Presidential Election.

Special interest items called earmarks have been fitted for coffins, according to Bush, and this alone should free up a lot of money, which will assist greatly with the budget.

Bush also vowed to protect Medicare and Social Security, programs long abused by The Left (Democrats in the past have continuously borrowed from Social Security to fund programs, and passed that permanent disability be pulled from Social Security, allowing certain individuals to pull money out of their Social Security account than they put in).

The No Child Left Behind Act was mentioned. Bush loves this program, but I have problems when the federal government gets too entangled in education. I believe the way to fix education is to ensure funds are provided for special education (which he did propose) and that higher standards must be met by teachers in order to continue to provide education for our children.

Healthcare is an issue that Bush spoke on for quite a while, and he alluded many times that he supported regulation, but not government sponsored health care. This defiance to socialized health care was met by silence from The Left. Of course. Their Marxist agenda is the complete socialization of medical care, as well as the eventual socialization of our entire society.

The proposed tax incentives in regards to health care seems to be a stable strategy, while still placating The Left with assurances that the poor will also be provided with the opportunity to secure reliable coverage.

Bush's continued weak stance on immigration poked its ugly head into this speech, but he was surprisingly slightly stronger than in the past. However, I have a better plan. Build a wall along our southern border, enforce the law regarding not allowing illegals to cross, and ensure that immigrants follow the proper legal protocol before being allowed into this country. Why is it so hard for politicians to understand that you should not reward criminals for breaking the law? Breaking the law is exactly what the border jumpers are doing when they cross the line into our country.

Energy and technology go hand in hand. I agree that we need to divorce ourselves from the oil habit. This will provide for a cleaner environment and will ensure that our money stops landing in the sweating palms of nations that support terrorism. However, I believe that this can be best achieved in the private sector. Incentives ought to be offered, tax cuts for certain programs would be dandy, but the government should not provide straight out funding which opens Pandora's Box for abuse and misuse. The goals of reducing gasoline usage by 20 percent in the next 10 years is admirable and achievable, but the government cannot sponsor every part of that journey.

Our system of justice is like no other in the world, and Bush's comments and commitment to nominate justices that are servants of the law rather than legislators from the bench is commendable.

Iraq and the War on Terror dominated the speech, and I agree with the president one hundred percent. Our highest responsibility is to protect our country from danger. This protection occurs when we remain on the offense by taking the war to the terrorists. He explained that everything didn't go as planned (what war does) but that by standing up to these people who preach with threats we have made the world a safer place. We must finish what we started and win this war. We must not abandon the battlefield in the midst of war. Regardless of the reasons we entered Iraq, the fight we are in now requires that we stay in that region, keeping our promises, not abandoning our friends, and doing whatever we can to assist Iraq in reaching the goal of providing their own security.

The current battle for Baghdad may be the defining moment of whether or not Iraq is succeeding or failing.

Overall, I think that it was a strong speech, and one that addressed every issue Americans care about, even though it was a lot like the last speech a year ago.

NY Times Stoops To A New Low

I am sure that you have all heard about the New York Times' latest idiotic headline.  The fine example of leftwing media has declared that 51% of American women now live at home without a spouse.

This number was devised in the same, twisted, manipulative way that the leftwing media conducts their polls.  Example: A number of people are asked, "Do you feel upset that members of our military have died in Iraq?"  (Yes or No only).  Well, death is always upsetting, so the answer is yes.  Headline: Poll reveals that more than 80% of Americans are angry over the continuous slaughter of American Troops in Iraq.

The truth is, if you seek the truth, 56.9% of American women over 18 are married.

Ah, that's where the New York Times added their sneaky little twist.  The headline makes it sound like what they are referring to is unmarried American adult women.  Not hardly.  The key is in the wording.  They published that 51% of American Women Live At Home Without A Spouse.

Let's break this down:

American Women:  Over 18?  Hardly.  Not according to the New York Times, anyway.  The group used by the New York Times includes young women 15 and older.  My daughter is 16, is still in high school, and lives at home.  So, according to the New York Times, she fits into the 51%.

Live At Home Without A Spouse:  Notice that that word "unmarried" is not used.  So, that means that the Times' group of women also includes all women who are married, but their husbands are not currently at home with them because they are locked up in prison, or being held in a mental institution, working out of town, or is overseas defending our country.  The article also does not take into account college women that are unmarried and currently seeking an education.

Fact is, according to the Census Bureau, 72% of men and women are married by 35.  This article is just another attempt to push the New York Times' agenda, but all it is doing is reminding us that the New York Times is far from being a trusted news source.

Guns in the hands of children

The leftwing mainstream media really ticks me off.  Newsweek recently sported a cover showing an Arabic kid that must not be much older than three years old clasping the barrel of an automatic rifle.  The caption above the picture reads: "How Daily Bloodshed, Deepening Hatreds and the American Occupation May Turn Iraq's Children Into The Next Jihadists."

Are you freakin' kidding me?  Do they really believe that the War in Iraq is placing these guns in these kid's hands?

In 1970, Life Magazine sported a cover showing Palestinian Arabic Children marching with weapons, and I guarantee you the War on Terror in its current form was not in that region back then.  We were too occupied with Vietnam at the time.

Fact is, the leftwing liberal media is doing whatever they can to grasp at straws that may get everyone stirred up and blaming Bush and America for the unrest of the world.  Fact is, Islamic Radicals have been putting guns and bombs in the hands of their children for years.  Newsweek should recognize their error.

Dennis Miller says it best: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFbRR92SeNQ during one of his recent segments on Hannity and Colmes.

Has setbacks weakened the United States?

Pelosi has decided that Bush is pushing his troop surge because if the troops are in harm's way, Congress won't cut funding.

She obviously thinks that conservatives play silly little games like liberals.

How naive of her.

And Iran is taking advantage of idiotic banter like this.  Ahmadinejad knows that public opinion is often swayed by idiots like Pelosi, and the leftwing liberal media.  So, believing that setbacks in Iraq, and setbacks under the liberal attack of Congress and the mainstream media, has weakened America's resolve, Iran assumes they have the United States at a disadvantage.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates claims that the Iranians are overplaying their hand.  Also, many of the nations in that region are concerned about the rising influence of Iran, which could play a major factor in Iraq should the United States troops depart from the country as the Democrats desire.  One of the consequences could be a bloodbath, and a merciless cleansing of any and all Iraqis that supported the U.S. presence.

Currently, there is no advantage of engaging with Iran diplomatically, as the Iraq Study Group recommends, and they will probably do nothing militarily until we leave the area, unless they are fairly sure we won't respond.  That is what they are waiting for.  Patiently.

That is why our presence in the region must remain.

Uncentered, Uneven Rant

I received a comment from an anonymous reader on my Carried By Christ Blog a few months ago that still has me thinking.

Many of you that know me, or have known me for a while, know that I am a Christian, and I am not shy about it. I am also a rightwing conservative. I am not a Republican because I am a Christian, and I am not a Christian because I am a Republican. Liberals and Centrists and New Agers and all of the others out there unable to come to grips with any level of political common sense seem to think that one causes the other. That is just not so, and I wanted to get that straightened out before we proceed.

Anyway, the commenter stated that they liked the posting on my Christian Blog regarding the real way to spirituality. She (I say she because I think I know who it is, and I appreciate her checking out my blogs after me giving her my card following her giving me a book--sorry if that's confusing to the rest of you) went on to say that my writing had a real sense of grace about it. To that I say, "Thank you," and "I appreciate your comment." After all, my primary reason for writing anything is for it to be read. I am not just a blogger, but I am an aspiring writer as well, and writing is what I do.

However, the post was not on the "real way to spirituality" in the way that the reader meant it (she explained her spritual mysticism that rubbed me a little wrong - and was the whole point of the post).  This is where the reader was in error on the get-go. The post was about how the world is searching for spirituality through metaphysics and Eastern Religions and New Age Philosophies and Scientology and anything else the world can come up with other than what is Biblical. People are seeking spirituality, but no one is seeking God.

Then, the reader's comment stated that she visited my Political Pistachio blog, and she found it to be written in an another voice entirely - claiming my political writing is uncentered, unsure, and a bit of an uneven rant. She claimed it was far from my spiritual centre. She stated that political strife is just a big version of the strife within, and that dedicating my passion to being angry at the world outside is just a way of avoiding dealing with my inner life.

She sounds exactly like a New Age cousin of mine.

I am not angry at the world. I am angry, however, that there are those out there that wish to take the freedoms of Americans away from the United States through terror, and that there are people out there, such as this commenter, that believes defending our rights, and the freedoms of others, is a manifestation of our anger at ourselves.

Perhaps these people who are so "spiritually centered" never faced a bully in their lives, or think that the freedoms we enjoy were just handed to us without any struggle.

Worldwide situations such as this current war on terror, and the problem of worldwide terrorism, is like a festering sore. If not dealt with, it becomes a larger, more damaging injury, eventually growing to the point that it kills you. That is fact. My faith of Christianity does not allow me to turn a blind eye from the truth and imagine that if we all danced in a field of daisies and praised Tom Cruise, or Buddha, or whoever, that the problems of Radical Islamism, Iran, Venzuela and North Korea will just go away. Life does not work that way. Nobody wants peace more than myself, but peace cannot be achieved by just wishing for it, or talking to these bastards that have only one thing in their mind - death to all infidels.

Common sense dictates that no matter how horrible it may seem, the only way to achieve peace in this maddening world is through strength, and the only free nation with that kind of strength is the United States of America. PERIOD!

I have strife within. We all do. But my strife is quieted not by focusing on my own integrity or by developing a quiet strength within. My personal peace comes from my relationship with Christ. My politics are generated simply by using that large, boney thing on my shoulders. Some may refer to it as a "head". My faith, as with Bush I am sure, has some impact on what I think politically, but my main reason for thinking the way I do politically is simply common sense and love of my nation. I refuse to pretend that terrorism will go away if I find some hidden inner strength through mysticism; and make no mistake about it, my politics will not be altered because some New Ager thinks that by supporting our troops in defending this nation I am projecting my angry innards.

Oh, and by the way, the commenter also asked me to take a leaf out of Jesus' book, and look at myself.

I did.

Israel is threatened, freedom is threatened, and the freedom to practice my faith could eventually be threatened.

The Old Testament records many wars, some of which God commanded or assisted. There is a 'time' for war (Eccl. 3:8); yet God's ultimate goal is for a world of peace (e.g. Isa. 2:2-4), and much bloodthirsty warfare is condemned (e.g. Isa. 33:1).

According to Jesus, war is just a part of how things are (Mk 13:7; Matt 24:6; Lk 14:31-32, 21:9). Paul, in his letter to the Romans says that God uses rulers to punish evil by use of 'the sword' (Rom. 13:1-4). Elsewhere, God commands rulers to rescue the weak and needy (Ps. 82:2-4). The care of a people is committed to those in authority, and their business is to watch over the common good of the people entrusted to them. In a sinful, fallen world, sometimes they must sadly use force to protect people.

A "just war" is fought when leaders who use war to enhance their glory or to extend their empire must be stopped and no other action will stop them.

This is a just war. The war on terror is a just cause. The terrorists goal is to make you think that they will leave you alone if we pull out of our war on terror.

Radical Islam desires your death, and my death. We owe it to our posterity, and each other, to protect America, Israel, and freedom wherever it may be blossoming.

God Bless America. God Bless our troops. And God Bless you.

A Promise To The Future

Why do we combat the treasonous actions of the Mainstream Media on our Blogs?

Why do we support the spread of freedom to places such as Iraq?

Why do we wage war against terrorism?

Why do we speak out regarding the challenges facing our nation?

The answer is simply to leave the generations of the future with the best America that we can -- a safe, free, and prosperous America.

Unfortunately, the media and the liberal Democrats have not held up their end of the responsibilities of keeping America safe.

If we are to preserve for our posterity the freedom and prosperity our ancestors preserved for us, we must continue to assert our outrage against the barbarism of our enemies, and against the treasonous actions of the New York Times and the rest of the liberal media. Our outrage must create resolution through action -- we must continue to fight against the liberal lie -- we must continue to be outraged -- we must continue to follow the path to victory. For the sake of the coming American generations of the future - our children and their children - we can accept no less.

I apologize for the short absence.  I have been occupied with gathering the loose ends of a proposal offered to me by Wide Awakes Radio.  The internet radio network, after hearing me as a caller on that network, and as a guest on MyPoint Radio, has offered for me to host a radio show of my own.  The premier will be in a few weeks.  Definitely on Saturday nights 5-7 pm, and possibly also on Wednesday nights from 8-9 pm.  Those times are Pacific.

I am back, and will be posting daily on Right Angle again.

I'll keep you posted on the radio show, with links and exact times and dates when they become available.

God Bless.

A Simple Thank You

I visited GM's Corner this morning, and he has a fantastic story about being at the airport and experiencing a scene not much different than a television commercial we've seen before.

The author of this piece explains how while at the airport he heard someone in the distance clap, until the clapping became the sound of applause. Curious, he looked for the source, and he noticed that people were stopping what they were doing, putting their luggage down, laying their packages aside and clapping for returnees from Iraq, still dressed in their desert camouflage and sand-colored boots.

He claims that there must have been over 100 of the returning troops marching by, and as they looked around, the applause grew louder, until everyone in the terminal was applauding the returning soldiers.

The Democrats try very hard to convince everyone that the American public sees these fine soldiers as baby killers and war-mongers. But it is at times like this that the truth makes its way to the surface.

A television commercial by a beer company has a similar scene. When I first saw it, it brought tears to my eyes. I couldn't imagine the tears that I would have been shedding had I been at this airport with G.M. Roper when this scene he describes on his blog took place.

This is what it means to support our troops.

My step-dad was in Vietnam, and one of the things that still bugs him to this day is how he never received that kind of response. It wasn't that he wanted it for ego reasons, he just desired to be appreciated for putting his life on the line for his nation. He was a helicopter door-gunner, and it wasn't until last October that someone aside from family thanked him for his service.

I had attended a Book Fest put on by the Military Writers Society of America, and two writers at that book fest, after I told them about my dad, gave me signed copies of their books to give to him. One of the writers (Jason Robertson), an orphan from Vietnam that fled in 1975 with the assistance of a wonderful American woman who pulled over two-hundred orphans out of the country just before the fall of Saigon, autographed his book, "A Love Beyond Explaining", to my dad, saying: "Glad you made it home. Thank you for your sacrifice." When I gave the book to my dad for his birthday last year, and he read what had been written by the author on the title page, it was one of the few times in my life I ever saw my dad's eyes moisten.

To all of our troops: Thank You for your service, and for your sacrifice. God Bless you.

Even the Mainstream Media is Beginning to Admit that the Economy is Strong

According to various articles bouncing around the media, consumers are optimistic, having an outlook that the future of our economy is considerably brighter.  The economy has been expanding, the jobless rate has remained below 5%, inflation has calmed down rising a moderate 2.7% at the first of the year, and the RBC Cash Index shows confidence clocking in at 95.3 in January.

And the doomsday crowd has refused to recognize this.  In fact, according to them, the economy is in shambles, and only the social programs and tax hikes on the top earners that will be pushed by our new lefty congress will fix the problem.

Hey, folks, the economy is fine.  Put the donkeys back in the barn.

Of course, if it improves even more as the year passes, the Democratic Congress will invariably take full credit for it.

The icon for the Democratic Party is a Jackass for a reason.

Responding to President Bush's Speech

I believe that President Bush pushed back the Democrats' calls to cut and run.  He hit the Democrats head on, detailing what would happen if we pulled out of Iraq.  Still, the leftists urged the president not to send more troops, claiming that Bush is heading down the same path - a failed path.

As President Bush stated, this struggle in Iraq will determine the direction of the global War on Terror.  And that direction will directly dictate our safety here at home.  His new strategy is not necessarily a new strategy, but a correction of direction, and a more determined effort toward victory.  There have been failures, he admitted.  There have been miss-steps.  However, think about my friends, has there ever been a war where everything went exactly as expected?

Leftwingers have argued with me, saying that, "Maybe the Iraqis don't want us to push our democracy on them."

Bush said in his speech that ". . .just over a year ago nearly 12 million Iraqis had cast their ballots for a unified and democratic nation.  The elections of 2005 were a stunning achievement."  The numbers in term of percentage of population was higher than that of voter turnout in the United States, and these people voted under the threat of death.  I find it hard to believe that they don't desire democracy.

Unfortunately, rather than pulling the nation together, violence has continued.  The violence is directly influenced by the Shia/Sunni conflict, as well as outside influence from Iran and Syria.  President Bush claimed responsibility for the continued violence in Iraq.  He said that the blame was his because he didn't increase the number of troops soon enough.

Fact is, regardless of the situation, departing from Iraq will spell failure, and failure will prove to be devastating to the United States.

Democrats keep crying out, "But the American People are against staying in Iraq."

The American People, then, are wrong.

Good thing Abe Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Teddy Roosevelt, and Harry Truman refused to listen to the loudest protests during their efforts, or we would be a very different nation, or a number of divided nations.

Fact is, and Bush verbalized this during his speech, if we pull out of the region Radical Islamism will grow in strength and gain new recruits.  They would be emboldened to topple moderate governments, increase violence in the region, and use the oil revenues to fund their actions.  And Iran would complete their drive for nuclear weapons.  With a fallen Iraq, Islamism would have a safe haven for planning, training for, and launching attacks against the free world.

With what I believe to be dry runs for terror around the world, specifically in Britain and Miami, America must succeed in Iraq.  We must remain strong, and the enemy must continue to second think taking another action against our nation as they did on September 11, 2001.

One change in strategy dictated by President Bush is simple.  Prior to this speech after securing an area we would leave and move on to another province or city to begin securing that zone.  Problem is, after we'd leave a secured area, the enemy would return and practice their violent ways.  Now, not only is the American Military going to go door to door if they have to to secure the zone, but also they will keep a contingent in the area to keep the zone secured.  This will require an increase in the number of troops in Iraq.

Although I originally agreed that there should be an increase of some kind, I did not originally agree with Bush's numbers.  I felt he wanted too many troops to be added to what is already in Iraq.

I was wrong.  After he detailed his plan, I understand the reasons for the number he came up with.

He also made it clear that Iraq must follow through on its promises, and act for themselves as well.

Bush explained that improvements will not be visible immediately, it will take time.  And the Iraq government must establish its authority.  Iraq must take responsibility for its security.  To assist, we will increase the embedding of American advisors and help the Iraqis build a larger and better-equipped Army.

Still, even as Iraq gains the ability to govern herself, Bush indicated that we will continue to pursue al Qaeda and foreign fighters.  Al Qaeda is still active in Iraq, and we must not allow the terror group to come closer to its goals of bringing down the Iraq Democracy

Understand, folks, this is not just a struggle against a bunch of thugs in the streets of Baghdad.  This is  a struggle against a radical ideology that believes in killing the innocent, using children to spread their violent ideology, and quelling the rights of women and anyone that disagrees with their cause.

And lastly, something Bush did not mention, I think we need to be investing in ways to divorce ourselves from the need of foreign oil.  It has nothing to do with what the environmentalists scream about.  If we no longer need their oil, they lose their grip on us.  They know that our fuel habit can only be supported by their oil, and they are taking full advantage of it.  Our dependency upon foreign oil is literally funding the very enemy that wishes destruction upon our nation.

I agreed with all Bush had to say.  I just hope the plan is stuck to.  And I wish the Democrats would quit politicalizing this war and support the troops with funding.

Interestingly, these Democrats that are demanding withdraw were demanding an increase in troop presence only a few months ago.  Typical flip-flop of the left.

Islam's Media War Against the United States

As stories about U.S. strikes against suspected members of al Qaeda in Somalia is gracing our headlines, a move I believe has been a long time coming, it seems strange to me that the press is covering this story without somehow inserting their usual traitorous remarks.  I don't know, perhaps the news services I subscribe to are not the kind of agencies likely to practice traitorous activities.  Perhaps I'm not reading the right sources.  I don't have much confidence in the majority of our press corps as it is.  Don't get me wrong, I don't think that our esteemed members of the press are all complete traitors.  I just believe that they have a tendency to be less supportive of American successes, and try to find ways to undermine our effort in the Middle East.

Anyhow, as we put more of our military forces in harm's way (I'm not being anti-war with that statement, my dear friends, that is just a fact of war, the battlefield is a place where the members of our military step into harm's way), and as our losses skyrocket to a few soldiers lost here and there (This is not intended to be disrespectful.  Every life lost is a tragedy, but at the rate we are losing lives, contrary to the beliefs of the Liberal Left, it would take 73 years to reach the level of fine personnel we lost in the Vietnam Conflict), Islam has been waging a war against the United States through the media.

They are carrying out this media war parallel to the war being fought on the sands of the Middle East.  They have observed the effect that the media has on our nation and have decided that our citizens are best handled through the medium of printed and electronic means.

Internet chat rooms are infested with their ideological propaganda, using the names of prominent members of the news media, often times.  They also utilize video as a means to sway American public opinion.  Ever since Haditha, the public falls for anything that shows an American Troop firing his weapon against anything that isn't in uniform (and since none of the insurgents are in uniform, the American public assumes that all of the killing that any soldier does over there anymore is either a rare crazy insurgent, or more often an innocent child or mother).

A few months ago Duncan Hunter of the House Armed Services Committee asked Rumsfeld, before his resignation of course, to ban CNN reporters from traveling with U.S. units in Iraq as a result.

Back to what I said earlier, each an every life lost in combat saddens my soul.  I understand the wish for the deaths of our fine military personnel to stop.  It is a sensitive issue.  This is why the Pentagon has banned photographs of flag-draped coffins arriving from overseas.

But this is what burns me up, sometimes.  In the past, seeing those dead men and women in their caskets coming home, and acknowledging their deaths as the deaths of patriots, is what fueled our effort.  "How dare the enemy cut down our fine soldiers," we would cry.  "We must finish the job so that the enemy cannot continue their murderous ways."

Now, when we see our dead coming home, the public cries out, "How dare the president send our fine young people to war.  We must get him out of office so that he will discontinue his murderous ways."

How asinine is that?

And the Global Islamic Media Front knows that this kind of thing divides a nation.  The terrorists are now taking advantage of the media, trying to influence public opinion here in the United States.  They are using a sophisticated propaganda strategy designed to divide America and break our resolve.  In fact, the Islamic propaganda is more effective on us than they had hoped.  The left-turn media gobbles it up, falling for every piece of idiotic Islamic propaganda they get their hands on.  Their efforts are affecting U.S. attitudes toward the war in Iraq, helping to confirm what was once a huge liberal lie that the war in Iraq was becoming increasingly unpopular.

And public opinion is not just swaying here in America.  Global public opinion is losing the overall war of ideas Bush declared as part of U.S. National Security strategy over four years ago.

Polls conducted by a group called Pew Global Attitudes Project have tracked a steady rise in anti-Americanism.  The United States is seen as hostile to Islam, and hostile to Arabs.  The media war has produced exactly what Islam has desired.  The mass of people in the world are vastly influenced by what they see on their evening news, and what they see is making them angry at America and Israel.
